Steering Rack Leak

Post by xr4tifan »

My steering rack has developed a leak at the nut located behind the dust cover. :x The fluid literally just pours out after a few turns. Time to replace the entire rack or is there another way to stop the leak?
Thanks

They typically can be rebuilt, but it is easier to replace.

Easy to rebuilt; kits are available; if you need the tool set, I have one like new available.

Where I live in Arizona a place called Phoenix Rack and Axle will rebuild your rack by steel sleeving it. I recall they charge about $250. The steel sleeving makes it lost longer.
