Rust, bodywork, electrical components. If you have the time and a place to put it, it's a nice project, and the car is a pleasure to drive. Best back seat... evar!

Do they really have a limited slip?
I thought the rear was the same in these as an XR4ti...

One of many Merkur fallacies.
The best way to keep your Kia from being stolen is to not have a Kia.

A friend's mom had one in high school, and the only thing I specifically remember about it was that it was Unhappy carrying four people up multi-thousand-foot grades in the foothills. But I live in the valley now, so it's pretty flat. :)

I think I gotta go check it out. I'm not worried about rust here in California, but any specific warnings on electrical systems prone to issues?

I'm a little worried about the body damage... it's probably unfixable.

Depending on what and how much of body damage, I have a parts car.
If you decide to go with it and then care to fix the parts, I may have what you need.
Just putting it out there.

Thanks! The last time I saw a Scorpio around here was probably 20 years ago!

I didn't end up doing this... as much as I'd like to have a Scorpio, in the end I determined I just don't need a Scorpio that needs body work. I'm sure I'll regret it someday...

Instead I bought a Saab that needs body work. :D

"Bought" is a strong word, but it encapsulates the concept. :D
