I'm thinking the 3.9 V8 from an LS would make the Scorpio an awsome sports sedan and would likely be short enough to fit the bay unlike a 5.0

Jake-
I thought the exact same thing when I saw that ad. The Jag 3.0 is nice too, but is a bit soft in the torque department. The Scorp looks to be 300-400# lighter than the Jag though.

From what I've seen, the engine is just long enough to protrude into the plane of the radiator, maybe I'm wrong...let me see if I can dig up the Euro-Scorpio with the 5.0.

The idea of an DOHC V8 in the Scorpio just seems right...

The 5.0 will fit in a Scorpio, just as in an XR. Robin Wolf offers front mounts for the 5.0 conversion one set fits both cars.

I wondered about that, but I didn't want to open my yap, 'cause I didn't know. But it seems I've seen pics or an article about a 5.0 Scorp somewhere. You would think, since both cars are built on essentially the same platform, that that would be the case.

Any links to this being done already? Still a far-fetched pipedream at this point, but I'd love to be able to pull up to Carlisle 2008 in a V8 Scorpio with headers and a nice quiet exhaust so you can hear the snapping of the headers. 5.0 or other doesn't really matter at this point. It'd make a very interesting family car. :)

There are some pics of a V8 XR conversion here, look on the 2nd page for engine pics.

The engine bay is damn near the same, though.

I finally found that V8 Scorp I was talking about. Unfortunately the site is in Finnish or Swedish, but take a look at the front-on shot, you can see the water pump pulley, indicating that he had to do something with the radiator...
