header and turbo GLOWING

I installed my boost controller today set it to 14psi bc it cuts out above that fot some reason. i get home after a few passes and the header and turbo were glowing red. how bad is that?

Shouldn't be glowing. Still have a cat? Check to see if its clogged.

Also, verify cam and ignition timing.

The exhaust is cut off right b4 the cat. I let the car cool now it runs better then it everhas b4.

I think the egt is high due to it cutting above 14 psi. why is it cutting out? plug gap boost blowing the spark out? fuel cut out?

Do you have an intercoooler? What are your afrs like?

No intercooler. i will hook you my wide band when i get a chance. untill then its going back to stock. i may install an extra meth kit i have laying atound

I'd hold off on the meth injection. Get the car sorted in stock form before you start throwing parts at it. It's just going to get harder to diagnose a problem.

It runs perfect on stock boost.

Is your cam timed? If it is overly retarded you will see higher EGT's.

I take you have an auto then? Stock boost on the manual cars is 15psi and it definitely shouldn't be cutting out.

If you go out, drive the car hard and then run right home and pop the hood, the exhaust is going to be glowing. Normal.

You could be getting "noise" that is setting off the KS, thus causing the issue.

Plug gaps could be too big, etc, etc.

Don't blindly adjust it. Definitely throw a light on it and see where you are.

IIRC, plug gap should be around .032".

No, not that wide. .32-.35 is the range.
3" mandrel bent exhaust, Ported/Polished head, 1.89/1.57 valves, Gutted uppper/Knife edge lower intake, T3/T4, LA3, Big VAM, Cold air intake, 40bob header, Gillis valve, Forge BOV, Mustang SVO T5, Conquest intercooler, 20psi.
