New member/owner with vavuum line questions.

Just picked up an 88 yesterday. Motor was in great shape and so is the car besides paint. Anyways I have looked up multiple vaccum diagrams but none have fit my car. I don't have the vacuum "block" as others. The vacuum that goes to the brake and clutch pedal is not hooked up. When I did hook it up it makes a leaking noise when I press the clutch pedal. Not sure if that is needed or not. Anyway anyone has a vacuum diagram for this or pictures? I am going to redo all lines. Thanks.

I've never seen vacuum lines attached to any XR4Ti pedals, but perhaps it's a cruise control thing. The EVTM is included in the Merkur Library CD in addition to the usual shop manuals if you want diagrams that work:

Whether you have cruise control or not you should have a vacuum block/tree attached to the false firewall near the wiper motor. If you don't have one, step one is to source one. You may also want to check to see if you still have a vacuum reservoir "ball" near the starter solenoid.

Okay thank you. I do have a tree with vacuum ports but I wasn't able to find a diagram online. I will look into the CD.

I know for sure the vacuum hose that attaches to the clutch pedal is for cruise control. It should not make a hissing (vacuum) sound when you depress the clutch, so most likely the "block" (for a lack of a better term) that the vacuum hose plugs into is damaged.

I do not believe there is a vacuum hose that attaches to the brake pedal inside the cabin. There is a Brake On/Off (BOO) switch that is an electrical, spade type connection. I'm thinking the hose you, are referring to is the stock boost gauge hose. If I recall correctly, there is a vacuum tee around the brake pedal and that hose often times pops off at times of overboost.
