Where'd you mount your MegaSqirt?

Post by Turbo »

I'm trying to figure out where to mount the MegaSquirt and thought it might be good to see where everyone else mounted theirs.

I mounted mine in the glove box, mainly to give a clean look of no wires going into the cabin of the car.
Its not what you build, its how you build it.

In the EEC bracket
German engineer: We custom fit every part in the Porsche engine.
Japanese engineer: You mean that you make every part wrong to begin with?

On my old xr4ti I put it were the amp is. (Under the radio) I felt it was a good place incase anything went wrong. Due to the led lights on the face .

Mine is mounted below the Glove box on a plate. The plate gets attached via the 2 6mm bolts at the bottom of the dash.
The factory amp location is a good one and i tried there. Only issue with that is you need a right angle DB backshell in order to fit the MS behind the factory plate. If you do this you can also have the serial connection face out through the plate with the LEDs. If your interested in this I have one made already that i would trade for a non drilled amp plate.

This is where I ended up putting mine, now to make some sort of trim ring.

Hmmm, that looks like it would work, but I've had a few people say they like seeing it there.

I have one of these ecu covers if you are interested in it. Did you ask about this on facebook as well? If it was not you someone recently did.

Depends upon the look you're going for. I like the stock, or at least ostensibly stock look. Under the hood is a little different.

My pimp is mounted in lower dash driver side speaker grill...made a custom mount and ran cable out by hood release. Lol engine harness comes out with main harness.
