t5 swap question

Post by foundnemo25 »

The clip to the dog bone that the clutch cable connects to I can not find anywhere. Dealership says that it is discontinued. There on earth can I get one of these.

HomeDepot, Lowes, Lawn Mower shops
German engineer: We custom fit every part in the Porsche engine.
Japanese engineer: You mean that you make every part wrong to begin with?

That is a more difficult thing. IIRC, I bought mine from someone who custom made them. I am not sure that exists anymore and you may have to make one!

hardware store clevis and pin, with a slot cut for the cable. need to grind two flat spots on the ball on the end of the cable too. i dont have pictures handy but my bell housing is sitting on the bench out in the shop so i can snap a pic easy enough.

If you can show me a pic so I can get a visual, it would be great.

this will probably only work for the clutch cable itself like am using rather than the dogbone cable though. i just use a small hose clamp to make sure the cable stays in the slot too.

I have gotten the clutch cable clevis sorted out (soon), and I just picked up a driveshaft from a mustang. The plan is not to use an adapter (front 460 machine) due to people stating that there is still vibrations. I have found a place that makes the merkur flange yokes with 1310 u joints. I ordered the flange yoke and will have the driveshaft lengthen from 45.5 to roughly 48.25.This way it gives more of a factory feel without adapters. Or maybe that sjust me lol. I will keep you guys posted.
