There is no fixing them, save the POR. Search and you'll find options with pictures.
German engineer: We custom fit every part in the Porsche engine.
Japanese engineer: You mean that you make every part wrong to begin with?

Unfortunately, they do that. There have been several threads on here with people discussing various alternatives. Mustang and Taurus fender liners with slight modifications come to mind.
I've never seen anyone posting about a successful rejuvenation, but I don't know that anyone's ever tried to either. Try it and let us know what happens.

I assume we are talking about the plastic arch liners that go brittle?
If so the Scorpio liners are very similar, would need a bit of trimming and fettling but could be the closest thing if you can't find any XR4ti liners, although they will be made of the same stuff so finding some could still be a chore

Yes, the plastic inner wheel well liners is what we're talking about. I wouldn't bother with trying a Scorpio version unless we found that it was made from a much higher quality plastic (which is possible, given that the interior bits for the Scorpio are much higher quality than the XR stuff).sierra_base_model wrote:I assume we are talking about the plastic arch liners that go brittle?

I stripped a '94 Granada Cosworth and the wheel arch liners did seem better but it could just be pot luck that they were still in one piece.
Not all Sierra arch liners are knackered yet, still plenty out there that are in good nick.
It's probably a case of loads of different batches made over the years and some are made better than others.

Scorpio liners are rubber not plastic. I stripped four from a parts Scorpio thinking they "should" fit or even if they needed a nudge/trim here and there, not a problem.DPDISXR4Ti wrote:Yes, the plastic inner wheel well liners is what we're talking about. I had earlier installed Mustang liners on XR fronts with cutting/trimming/stretching here and there (heat gun) and drilling mounting holes to fit the XRs mounting points. Decent enough and not difficult install.
Tried to fit one of those Scorpio liners on an XR and immediately saw it would be more effort (being rubber they're floppy in handling...) and being rubber you can't stretch/mould them using heat, and so said Eff That and ordered anither set of Mustang liners as raw material.
Definitely not plug-and-play...
YMMV ;l

I have a set of all 4 Scorpio liners. They are still flexible as a 20 year old Korean Yoga Instructor (channeling Ed Lejewski, sorry). They are similar to the XR, but a lot of effort will be needed. I am going to go the Mustang & Focus route.
