I have seen the green xr pics mod work, but can't remember where I found it.
I've no problem chopping alittle to make it fit.

Removable slam panels, properly done, can make life easier for us in many ways. There have been some good examples I've seen.

My "faux BMW-6 swap" was using the head from a gray-market '82 745i.

Ha! Brad, yours looks very cool too, but I was thinking about the one Mike posted. :D How'd it run? So smooth you almost couldn't hear it?

M50 sierra swap. Gives you an idea what may be involved in any I6 swap. This one is a bit extreme though. :)

Thanks whitelx. Great reads... and a boat load of work and time. Helps if you're involved in the race/performance-mods business full-time. Makes dropping in a 5.0L look like a simple head swap. :) Lot of work changing the firewalls and trans tunnels, but I guess basic hot/cold air and A/C are not an option, though at least the solution in the 1jz actually pulls exterior air to the cockpit.

Interesting how each one has a different emphasis on the details/fabrication areas they concentrated on.

Gets me thinking about firewall mods to position the 5.0L further back, at least enough to make for better clearance with the heater hoses. One good thing about modifying the firewall and getting rid of the air intake & fan is that you can run a triangulated brace from the strut towers back to the firewall, a la mustangs...
