Springs
I already have a set of mc2racing springs on all corners, the rear is fine, but the fronts just arent quite where i want them to be. Are there any other options for front springs, or will i have to go with the coil over setup? Id really rather stick with the stock coil setup if possible.

Guess i couldve been a little more specific. I dont want to lower the car, but i want a stiffer spring. I already have the 200lb springs, and theyre just not quite stiff enough. Are there any other options to retain stock ride height and stiffen up the spring rate?

Custom spring rate ones and re-valved konis.

agreed, MC2 distributes for their spring manufacturer. I think its hypercoil or something like that. Im sure they can order you what you want.

I've got a set of 300s on the shelf that install like stock...much like the 200s you have. However, they're better suited for XRs with heavier front ends...such as those with a V8 conversion. They would cause the front end of your car to sit 1" higher than it currently does. I don't know if that ride height is amenable to you, especially if it would take your car from "stock" to "rally", but it is something to consider.
Of course, as mentioned coilovers expose you to pretty much any ride height and rate you desire...within reason.

i would suggest coilovers to OP. Having driven multiple XRs over the years I can say, without a doubt, that coilovers paired with poly bushings has been my favorite and most rewarding upgrade to date. I went with MC2's Bilstein coilovers upfront with non-coilover Bilstein rear shocks. I'm running 350lb springs with the coilovers and on Kalamazoo's garbage roads I have not once thought they were too stiff. The same goes with the Bilstein rear shocks paired with 650lb rear springs. It just feels like a planted, well damped, street performance car now. If this is how it drove from the factory our cars would be heralded as legends and our cars would be worth much more right now. I may be exaggerating a bit there... but that's how in love I am with the set up. So worth it and I think it's a steal at the current price-point.

Although, I am also in Michigan, so the roads are crap...That may be too stiff?
I'm just doing a streetable car, daily driven. I picked up a set of Koni yellow that will be installed with springs, once I find a set of something that will do the job for me.

For a more detailed picture: I picked up my rear springs from SvoSierra because he didn't like how stiff the 650s were with his Konis (I believe he has Konis atleast...). He lives on the other side of town from me and drives some of the same roads I do. I personally love the 650s paired with the Bilsteins. I think he ended up with 450lb rears... what I'm getting at is a decent chunk of setting up suspension and choosing spring rates and whatnot is personal preference. I recently picked up an early model hatch and a hood from someone else on here that was running the same spring rates as me and he also loved the setup.
based on how my car feels, if you're going to only drive it on the street with some spirited driving here and there you couldn't go wrong with 300 front/500 rear. Still much more firm than stock but should be compliant enough to not feel harsh ever, especially if you aren't going with poly bushings. I am by no means an expert and someone like John V or the guys at MC2 would be able to give you fantastic advice. I've spoken to Grayson a few times through email and he has always responded to my emails way faster than I think someone should in that scenario, haha.

The fronts are 200lb and the rears i believe are 550lb, id have to double check. They are a MASSIVE improvement over the stock springs, but just not quite enough for what im looking for. The ride is nice, but id like a little stiffer spring on all four corners. They handle everything very nicely, just want a little more.

Let me know....I don't want super stiff/aggressive quality. Also, are these a specific rate or progressive spring?
I wouldn't be able to do specific rate.

I am very happy with my 350/650 setup, but this is a BIG step up from stock. I'm sure the 215/45-17s aren't helping, but it's a rough ride on bad streets. Absolutely worth it when the roads smooth out, and 10-ish years later I still have the same springs, but it's nothing approximating a stock ride.
