Cossie Bumper mounting

Post by dhraakoxr »

Hey, does anyone have a link or some pics to show how to properly mount a fiberglass cossie bumber to my XR? I already have everything off the front of the car....also... this is a NACs bumper so yes I know there maybe be some "fun" fitment issues. :headbang :headbang

Quick clip showing the factory fitment of the front bumper on a Sierra Cosworth. Those wishing to install a genuine OR fiberglass Cosworth front bumper on their XR4Ti will initially think the bumper is "too wide" as they try to install it close to the fitment of the factory XR4Ti front bumper. As you can see in the video the bumper has a massive gap right from the factory (real Sierra Cosworth shown) and sits in front of the grille. The bumper "top" is on the same plane as the flat part of the opening on the grille. Most body shops will tell you the bumper doesn't fit and will want to cut and section it to make it fit tighter on the car. If you don't want your bumper chopped / sectioned / cut / shortened you may want to have the shop view this video.

Side note - the NACS fiberglass bumpers were actually mocked up on an XR4Ti and fit tighter than the factory Cosworth bumper.
