Engine noise after T-5 install

Post by JimG »

Fired it up on jack stands and have a not nice noise just above idle seemingly coming from the starter area. New flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, throw out bearing.
Any thoughts? I’ll tried to post a video but the site doesn’t like the .mov file on my phone!

"Not nice" is kinda not helpful... is it a grinding? Clanging? Rumbling? There's only so much going on in there...

I avoid social media like the plague. Ironic considering my profession I suspect... or is it?

Turned out to be a broken starter motor so that the armature extend the gear further out that normal into the fly wheel!

Thanks
