No, we actually removed the power steering altogether and looped the lines on the rack.
1st endurance race in the books
Re: 1st endurance race in the books
what were your settings on the Koni shocks? You may also try removing or going lighter (back to stock) on the rear bar.

Nice! That's what a few folks have done, seems to work pretty well.

If you really want to de-power the steering rack, please read this thread:

Re: 1st endurance race in the books
I wish the previous owner of my car would have done that (loop the lines) instead of just cutting them off. I saw an Integra Type R that was set up as a road race car, and they ran the two lines up to a small master cylinder from a motorcycle. Just the reservoir part. Mine has been holding up but I'm thinking it will go bad at some point, not much fluid in there.
The best way to keep your Kia from being stolen is to not have a Kia.
Re: 1st endurance race in the books
I'm sure I have the settings written down somewhere but I can't remember now. The plan is to up the spring rate both front and rear and I would like to get it to the point where we don't need any rear sway bar. Thankfully we have a couple of parts cars so we could go back to stock if need be.

That's exactly how I de-powered the rack on my Miata. We might do that at some point but for now, it works perfectly so more pressing items on the "To Do" list need attention.John Brennan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 10:40 am If you really want to de-power the steering rack, please read this thread:

What we did find out is that the rear springs are too short, the front springs are too weak, the fuel pressure regulator wasn't working properly, and the O-rings on the injectors were going bad. Now I'm just anxiously awaiting the 2019 WRL schedule so we know how much time we have to sort and test the car before the next race.
