bump steer correction parts

Post by James Wieler » Thu Oct 25, 2018 1:56 am

Hello,
Is there an adapter available to allow the use of a spherical bearing with our XR4Ti spindles? Like this:

Or does anyone know off hand what the degree of the taper is for our outer tie rod ends?
thanks
James

Is bump steer a real problem with these cars? In the 924/944 community it is well known and there is tons of info about it but except for some solid race builds I don't see a lot of info here for it.

I'm hoping to get some feedback on that too. When I lowered my car ~1" I noticed considerable jerking of the wheel as I lane changed. That would be consistent with bump steer but the camber also changed and went to ~2 degrees when lowered. Wider tires also made it worse.

In general I'm not impressed with the front suspension in this car. I think the sprung anti-sway bar contributes to short bushing life and would benefit from be converted into a strut rod and then add an anti-sway bar like a traditional suspension set up.

Love to hear peoples thoughts
