Alternate sun visors

Post by DPDISXR4Ti » Thu Jan 03, 2019 1:56 pm

Has anyone ever looked at using a set of sun visors from an alternate, more modern vehicle? Two reasons come to mind...
1) Replace an aging, dried-up/cracked visor with a more modern part.
2) Install a visor with a Homelink transmitter installed.

Anyone looked at this or do I need to be first?

I was thinking of installing a Homelink transmitter in the Scorpio moonroof console when I finally get around to converting my XR to electric. I took a transmitter from my old Accord that I installed from an old Acura.

I think I've now got at least 3 spare overhead consoles, so that could certainly be a possibility.

What is the homelink transmitter do/for? Built in garage door opener?

yes, typically has 3 buttons for garage/gate openers. A nice touch for cars that park in the garage, but a security risk for cars parked in the driveway (if programmed for the garage).
