trailer hitching with hks bov

Post by Peter88 »

I installed a saab 9000 ic with a hks ss bov and I'm getting alot of trailer hitching even though the bov is adjusted to max. I know that some use bp valves and others with bov with no problems is there something I'm missing out. Bov is located before tb, any advice would be helpfull.

Thanks.....Peter

Hmm..I dunno why it is still doing that...how much boost? I'm running right at 20psi and now that I have my Blitz bov on "trailerhitching" is pretty much non existent. Is your bov working properly? I know that sounds dumb but my blitz was stuck once due to water...but if you hear sound then it should be working right. Not sure what the problm may be.

Try backing it off-- sometimes I found that with my Hyperboost adjustable BPV that less spring pressure was better. Had to find that sweet spot between no leaking and no trailer hitching, and I did.

I think most of us suffering from trailer hitching are really suffering from a greater case of it because of sloppy drivetrains.

The differential usually being the worn out piece with all the play.
I think the trailer hitching would pretty much never be noticeable if we all had new, tight drivetrains.

My diff is so worn.

I thought "trailer hitching" was the affect you get when the car jumps up and down when you let off the gas from hard throttle...kinda like a see saw action...am I wrong? Mine did what I just described until I installed my bov and now it's alot better!

thanks for the reply guys. I'm currently running at 15 psi and ya the sloppy drivetrain sounds good after all it's an 88. I'll try backing of the bov as well maybe that'll help as well. But alas as a lucky xr4 owner I have more problems, this time tranny which is rattling now when I release clutch and I think drive shaft is unbalanced. This winter so far is winning the battle :x .Any help on these winners would be a great help.

P.s it's the reliable t9

I think it's when you're boost drops in between shifts, and it has to come back up in the next gear.

i have this too on my car with basically the same setup. i figured it was the drivetrain, i haven't even checked to see what the guibo looks like under there. but i have learned to feather coming off the throttle.
