I dunno what that's about, but just look up TurboCoupe or SVO. It's the same motor. #45190

Where's their brain? How many sales have they missed because of this oversight?

Re: Yikes
Talked to Neal at Magnecore, said he and his brother bought the business last year/early this year. Nice guy, sounds like a good warranty, and also like they should be the last wires I ever buy, so I ordered a set of KV85s(the 45190 P/N) and they should be here next week.
Man, I must've been having some bad luck with wires. The last time I pulled the plugs(over a year a go), 1, 3, and 4 looked like number 2 this time(and I do mean poop, in addition to the plug that came out of cylinder #2 ). I swore I ohmed out the wires before install, or maybe something broke on #2 wire. It is showing anywhere from 50k ohms to 500k ohms depending on how I hold it. Checked #1 for grins, 8k ohms. Service manual says 5k per inch. I now wait for new wires to get here. Should be early/mid next week.

Re: Yikes
I bought a set of Magnecor wires for my Saab 900 in the '90s and *still* use them. They're a bit dirty these days, but they work great. They've been on, sheesh, five different cars now? Same on the XR - 15 years of service is nothing to sneeze at. If I had to replace them tomorrow I'd feel like it was still a good deal.
Re: Yikes
What's the damage$$$? Not that I'll buy them, just curious.milehighXR wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 4:51 pm Talked to Neal at Magnecore, said he and his brother bought the business last year/early this year. Re: Yikes
$170.00 shipped, but since they should out last me or the car, it's a good deal. I think when I drove the car daily in 05-12 I was replacing wires every 2 yrs, at $25-30 per set. I have to look for my receipts.

Re: Yikes
I got some 8mm plug wires for pretty cheap. I think the box said KEM but the wires are just grey. I will look and see if I can find a part number. If your dizzy to coil is ok and you just need the 4 long wires look at the ranger plug wires. Seems like they are exactly the same in many cases except for that one plug wire (either long version or short version)

Re: Yikes
Taylor is my backup brand of choice - they do have some QC issue but they tend to be obvious on install. If they install well, they tend to last. I've used them on a variety of cars, notably old Chevy V8s where the plug wires sit right next to the exhaust manifold. The Taylor 8mm "Spiro Pro" wires are well built and seem to live good lives. They aren't cheap either, though. $70-$80/set. On the Chevy V8 it's worth it IMO because changing those wires sucks!!!
