Nope, the IC is mounted above a scirocco rad.

Blood hell, no need to shout & sorry I took so long to reply but I was answering questions in the order I got them.

It's 30" wide, 12.5" tall and 1.5" deep.

But at the same time it is drawing air out using Vernulies principle, it has to be drawing the same hot air from the radiator and in effect causing a heat soak situation

Bernoulli's Principle, to which I believe you're referring, is of course what makes airplanes fly, etc., and does play a role here. But mind you, Wilky has a Cossie grille, so his IC is getting a direct shot of virgin, high-pressure air through that and over the top of the shorty rad. It will be best, of course, if there's some sort of splitter between the rad and the IC, a la the original RS Cossie, to ensure that no pre-heated, post-rad air gets drawn up through the IC.

Yup, you got it John although the IC is mounted above the rad so there is no possibility of hot post rad air finding its way through the IC unless of course I am driving very fast in reverse!

And never rule out that possibility! You may need to make a hasty reverse getaway! :o

That looks really good, I like it.

I contemplated something similar on the 83 turbo Bird, but went ahead and left it alone and painted the car. I still may look into that though as I have a spare hood ;)

Any underside pics?

I've always liked the idea, as the air would go in the grille, through the IC, and bada bing, right out the middle of the hood with no "magic bullet" right angle turns. The V8-powered M3's of a couple of years ago (which were banned, because, umm, BMW don't make a 3-Series with a V8...) had a nice louvered vent right in the same place, and it got me to thinking. Plus, rain and car wash water would just drop harmlessly straight through to the ground, in front of the engine and behind the rad, without hitting anything. You gotta like that!

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to re-read my post. That's why they were banned.

Now, if you're referring to the current M3, it's a six. Perhaps the next-gen M3 has different plans.
