1986 XR4TI shop manuals

Post by Kerry K »

I own a complete set of shop manuals for a 86 XR. If there is enough interest I will convert these to .pdf and make these availible on line for anyone to use.
These are the FoMoCo shop manuals not a "Chiltons"

Several people have already converted these manuals to PDF, with rather impressive quality I might add, and one of the individuals has already made the PDF file available for free download online. The manual is also available in a pseudo-proprietary format with some advanced indexing and print features to allow for quick printing of specific pages or desired page ranges for use in the garage:

$34 expensive????
Hell, that's only 1 tank of fuel
It will save you 10 times that in cash and frustration alone. Don't be so cheap.

I have to be cheap ,I work in corp america now were my job is only good till the next time the ceo needs a new jet. I try to keep my debt down so incase things hit the crapper I wont lose anything. Nothing against the people who sell the cd they need to recoup the cost of doing it. It was mentioned that someone had put it in pdf format and that it was posted free, I was just following up on that. Also made a deal with my wife for every dollar I spend on my car and other projects she gets to spend the same on her new car. At this rate I will have to buy her a 63 stingray.

If I was too worried about that, I definitely wouldn't have mentioned the existence of the free .pdf! I actually don't have the link anymore to the free PDF, and I'm not sure it was meant to be permanent anyway. I saw someone mention the link to someone else, and I jumped on it like Anesi on junkyard.

Bottom line though - whether you get a nice one or a cheap one, definitely get a manual. I've never owned a vehicle and not owned it's accompanying manual, and I never will. The torque specs themselves are invaluable from a dependability and safety standpoint.

Go to http://3-xr.com/ . That's Vcallaway Website. In the Downloads section you will find several XR Factory Manuals and even a T5 Shop Manual.
You've to be registered to get access to the downloads.

Was going to use it to line the bottom of the cat litter box. Figured it would atleast be useful for that its never been much help for my car.
