xr ecu pins

Post by 1lowscort »

well as a couple of you know im boosting my 86 escort gt. ive been told that the merkur ecu will work good in my car for boost. i just checked the pinouts on this ecu versus mine...they are a whole lot alike, there are three pins that are different than mine...i was wondering if you could tell me what they do.

pin 23-knock sensor...i know what this is and i will be incorporating one of them into my motor

pin 32-boost control...how does this control boost? what does it go to and is it necisary? this is also the same pin that my ecu uses for the canister purge solenoid....which i dont need because i dont have one anymore

pin 34-data output link...this sounds kind of important but could just be some more bs that i dont need.

the only pin that is also used on my computer is 32.

any help would be greatly appreciated

apperently the boost control output controls the boost via a solenoid...not needed for my application, and i no longer have a canister purge solenoid, so that doesnt matter

the data output link is for trip/mpg accessory...also not needed

so the merkur ecu is going to work for me just fine and good i think
