All XR's have dual pumps. One in the tank, and an inline pump. I'm not sure of the factory flow ratings though.

Put a Walbro in the tank, (255 LPH) and be happy...

It's somewhere around the 90lph range no idea what PSI or what. It should be good to 250hp.

*shrug* I replaced my external pump with a larger in-line bosch motorsport pump. It's louder on startup and when running but other than that it seems ok to me.

I put a 255lph high pressure walbro in my 89. I did this for 2 reasons. One both pumps died in the same day and I'm going crazy on the engine. Go walbro or go home. :D

Unless somebody replaced the stock setup you have two pumps. :banghead
There's no "early" and "late" pump either. They're all the same 85-89.

Yup.

1 in the tank to get it up and out. The 2nd to apply pressure and increase flow.

BTW if you wanted they do sell 255lph inline walbros, or you could go with a bosch setup like me but you will need custom adaptors to use the stock ford quick connect stuff.

I believe he's talking about an Escort pump not the XR.

:dunno
I assumed that since it was in the "XR" section... we were discussing an XR... but now that I re-read his original post... you may be correct.
