This one is from 1965. Apparently the lake was illegally filled in.

Cool thread, I bought many, many parts there in my youth. Last time I was there was to drop off my dad's '69 Rebel Wagon. Had to be 1988.

Welcome aboard. After GI's closed I stopped and realized that over the course of the previous 10 years, I had likely spent more hours there than any other place, not including my own house/property. Only 30 minutes away, convenience was the biggest factor.

My ~annual update... Looks like the property has been sold to Avalon, who recently got the zoning changed to NOT be senior housing.

I wonder if they'll ever actually build anything on this site. I should go to the planning meeting and tell them there really should be a plaque memorializing the junkyard.
