Now that you've torn things down, any evidence of what caused the failure? I recall that the engine was a low-mile unit, but was it a junkyard pull or some sort of warranty replacement? Just thinking it may have had a "pre-existing condition". :dunno

bingo... i heard a little bearing wrap when cold and would go away after warmed up. That was my feeling.. as nothing was loose, broken main bearings were fine. just 2 rod bearings.. the motor had a little shake also when cold at around 1600-1900 rpm's..

But everything checks out good. and everything is new in the motor... New crank ,rods ,pistons, oil pump(high pressure),cam, push rods, front and rear main seals lifters, main and rod bearings, block hot tank and cleaned, heads checked and new valve stem seals and springs were installed..

so basically a new motor... :headbang
