Rigollet rally replica progress (renamed thread)

I thought I should share this here. I did some test painting on a scrap hood. Think it's a good match?

Might be the lighting, and I'm being real picky since you asked, but the navy blue looks like it needs to be a tick darker - looks almost black on the original car.

But, use those colors and nobody will complain.

LOL... I thought the light blue was too dark, but the colors might look different in person. I've always had a hard time finding a really light blue paint.

Like I said, with the different lighting, image color capture technologies, and different computer LCD screens, I think I got it dang close. I'm pretty sure the original was a scanned photograph from about 10 yrs ago. Last night's shot was on a $30 Ebay digital camera. I have seen 2 knockoffs of his car and I think my colors look better. I am biased of course. 8)

Yellow is the worst color to capture and display. My stupid taxi looks different in every photo, and every monitor I see it on.

Tonight's progress..... I still have masking around the dark blue. Need to wait a day before removing it. If all goes well tomorrow, I'll be showing the local ricers "what's up!" in the evening.....
