Pretty hard not to be happy about opening up your hood and seeing that, huh? Thanks for sharing. An analysis of this project, in terms of total cost and what needed to be done, would be a very worthwhile study for us all. 8)

Nice job, lot's of work but, why a Chevy in a Ford?
Personally, I'm not a fan of cross-breeding. Even in hot rods.
Besides, a Ford small block sounds so much better than a GM V-8.
Please don't take offense, just one of my strange foibles............
I do appreciate the work and time involved, really clean installation.

Not offended.. See here was my issue.. I had a 450+ hp 2.3 turbo in the car before. So I did not want to lose 200 hp by going to a 5.0. Heck if ford would have made a street legal, idle smooth 400hp 5.0 I would have used it.

Sure I could have built up a 5.0 to 400 hp but it would be a radical cammed motor. The reason I took the 2.3 out was , I live in Ca. and my 2.3 was loud. In CA they can pop your hood at any time and when you saw my old motor(polished header, big turbo, aluminum head etc.) I would of have to take out the HI po motor and put a stock one back in there. Been doing that for the last 10 years I am over it.

now I have a smog legal 400hp motor and did not have to lose any hp from where i was. and with heads and a mild cam 500+. past where I was. and further than you are gonna go with a 5.0.. unless forced Induction

Beautiful build! :D It must be a joy to drive, considering you're 400 pounds lighter than the corvette it was meant for!

What size wheels/tires are you using? Is there any trouble getting all that torque onto the pavement? How does it drive compared to your old 450hp 2.3? And just out of curiosity, do you think there's room to mount a transfer case and front 8.8 for 4WD goodness :D?

Even jaded Santa Monica has to take notice of that-- do you get people pulling up next to you and asking questions?

the rims are 18" in rear 17" in front.. as for torque to pavement it actually is not that bad. as long as you are not dumping the clutch and come out at 2000rpm and slide clutch a little it rips pretty good.

as for 4 x 4 i would have to go and look at what Tim did. and see if it would fit.
