I have a terrible vibration problem too. Mine is bad at 3k rpm and when decelerating from freeway speeds
ya they like to be fussy. I think my blue V8 XR broke once a week for 2 years before I solved all it's issues.

my white XR starts vibrating at exactly 3000 rpm (60 MPH) in third and is worse on deceleration. I has been reduced with all the things I have done last month ( drum to disk rear brakes, new all spicer drive line, rear wheel bearings stiffened diff mount, shimmed transmission.) however its still there, slightly more tolerable but there.
If I find it I will be sure to post it here.

Oh.. that would be annoying!

I am swapping the rims off My V8XR on saterday morning to test that theory. (it was vibration free last time it was driven). I probably should have done this first but the original drive line was visibly bent and so i was inclined to believe all the problem was there.. I was MOST unhappy when a very price brand new drive line only helped up to 60 MPH.

I swapped tires/wheels to a known good set. Because of the larger outside diameter it shifted the vibration to 65 instead of 60 however it is still there just as bad. I think it Engine RPM dependent but only in Third Gear?? SIGH.....

Not really sure

Started detonating (pre-ignition) losing power. It got worse and worse, engine started making a weird smell, a lot nasty noise from the engine.

well I have a VW Jetta mk2 as my daily driver car. but its been down for a few weeks now. so I've had to use the merk as my daily car. I took the wing off for less attention. It was making the 36 mile round trip to work everyday without any real problems (as long as I baby the throttle) but about a week ago it acted up and broke down. I guess it over heated casue the next day it was very low on coolant and after filling it back up its been running ok since. My temperature guege moves, but it must not be very acurate at ALL!

but today I did a block test with the blue chemical thing. it turned from blue to yellow, indicating combustion gasses in the cooling system :(
