XRBrati Underway....

Post by DPDISXR4Ti »

I like to call this picture, "Jaws". Note the open mouth of the XR, awaiting to devour the rear end of the Brat.
No use for the rear suspension for this project however, so that will become a utility trailer.

Nope, that was just the Photoshop mock up. FWIW, this car would have otherwise been crushed by now, so I figure I saved one.

But just imagine if I did something like this to an SVO!

Yep, just like a P100, except I'll be able to find replacement tail-lights, bed caps, etc for it in the US! It'll be the only Merkur with a T-top!!! 8)

Repost that pic, or link to it if you could. That was impressive. Looked real. I want to see it again now that I know it's fake.

Also, how much weight do you expect to shave off with dumping the rear end in favor of a bed?

I've given a fair amount of thought to that very question, and I expect it to be close to a wash. Bear in mind, I'll be leaving the floor of the XR in place and the Brat bed will be bonded to it. Loosing the XR hatch will be the single most significant weight reduction.

Here's another shot of the Photoshop magic. I only wish it was this easy.

Who would do that anyways? That looks so ugly. No offence.

The roof line is all wrong in that mock-up and won't look like that. Who knows, it might look worse!

I can tell it's photoshopped, now that you mention it. Good work either way.

One of those monsters that you draw as a little kid that looks kinda cool, but you pray to God that nothing like that ever comes to life.
