Even better if it were made out of your personalized vanity plate...

How is it mounted to eliminate vibrations?

It's not fully mounted yet, but I'm going to use a L bracket to the unused bolt hole next to the oil tube and probly some steel wool or brillio pad in between to reduce vibration.

Be careful steel wool will catch on fire very easy.

I remember seeing a picture of a stainless steel mixing bowl, like you would find in any kitchen, that had been fashioned into one really good looking heat shield. I believe it was on this website. Anyone else know what i'm talking about?

Colin's photo links no longer work but this is his thread on his heat shield:

Thank you Ed, it is a shame that the photo links don't work. I will try to elaborate a turbo shield based on this idea, so, I will attack my wife's kitchen to see if I find something that will work ( I will buy a replacement before I dare to cut and weld any of my wife's hardware just to be safe  ).

You guys might have seen this already, it uses the same mixing bowl concept you guys talked about. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showth ... ics/326366

I'm still waiting for the paint to burn off of mine. So You should consider either burning/stripping it prior to installation, or using another insulating material inside of it. The plate by itself lowers the temp surrounding the turbine about 200 degrees. I'm sure Mr.supra's S/S shield works better but mine turns heads.
