I'm kinda old, so it takes me longer than most.
I've probably got 10hrs on the paint. I'm going to do a whole writeup on my website about bringing back a seemingly lost cause to the world of the living.
Here is the process on the paint:
Wash using a strong mix of dawn dish soap. The alkaline removes oils from the paint.
Scrub the whole car using softscrub (yes, the household cleaner). This removes moss and mold buildup. Used a scrub brush on all the rubber.
The front door is softscrubbed.
I next used a buffer (harbor freight special) with a wool pad and Meguiers Diamond Cut Compound. It is a strong oxidition cutting comound that breaks down to a mild polish when heated. Keeps you from over buffing.
After that I used a Mothers Clay Bar followed with a pre-wax cleaner and then Carnuba wax.
Anyone in their right mind would have just parted the car out. But, no I had to prove a point to someone.
