Yeah, lets all make sure we all have walkie talkies and then we can do the five abreast drag race out of the toll booths a bit better!

A picture is worth a thousand words - here's a pic of the convoy in 2002 with 22 Merkurs en route to Carlsile - yes - CB radios a must, and at least 1 cell phone per vehicle recommended along with tools & extra parts :o

CB radios are VERY inportant to keeping us all together - there is a lead car and a "back-door" car and its the communication between the 1st and last car that keeps us together. I'm lead on the i-76 group and its pretty easy to keep 7 or so cars together, but when we merge with the i-70 group and have 20+ cars every year the group will usually stretch out 1 - 2 miles on the turnpike - but the last car makes sure no one slips behind them. The convoy is my FAVORITE part of Carlsile, followed by the hotel parking lot sessions, and then the showfield.

With our new Scorpios I would so be begging my wife to go to Carlisle, but alas we have a little girl coming in April and I just not sure a 1 month old would handle a 1000 trip very welll ;)

I have the i-76 (turnpike) starting up here in Ohio Friday morning, then we join up with the i-70 convoy once we get into PA.....then all of us roll into Carlsile as ONE MASS OF MERKURS. See the picture above? That year we had like 23 Merk's I think , this year we are looking at 40 Merkurs on the convoy which will start in San Diego, California  :!:
Here's another pic rollin' on the PA turnpike on the way to Carlsile

Mightier cars possibly with Phils XR at 600+BHP and Hugh's XR at 550+BHP...but in sheer numbers the i-70 / 76 convoy has never been "outdone" by any other convoy...and with 35-40 cars this year

& maybe this year the SW Ont people race to meet up with the Mi people & then race to meet up with the Oh people in Oh etc etc etc & then we meet up with the last bunch and cruise sedately to Carlisle (if MHamilton "YOU JUST GOT TRASHED BY 4 CYLINDERS"can control his outbursts.)

Wilky

PS: Actually he didn't shout "trashed"

Yeah right off of i-76 here by my place. There's usually quite a few MI folks that come down this way - try and get in contact with them, Brian Hart and the rest of them guys.
The MI guys missed the exit last year, so this time I'm gonna photo the exit and post it right before Carlsile

Last year we met up at Cabella's in Dundee. Last year I shot down 69 to 75/23 then on 23 to Cabella's its off 23. So Wilky if you guys over in Sarnia want to meet up on the way or at my house then meet up with the rest of the guys ( they are talking Cabella's again) but its not much farther out than 75 anyways and a straight shot. I'm only about 1 1/2 miles off 69, and if you have Sock with you he has been here if he remembers. Just an option if you want. Of course this means getting up early on Friday again :D .

In my defense as on of the MI guys I was just following and had no clue.
