Well, there are many people on this forum and not who I think would be a blast to see at this years Carlisle event. Pick your favorites and maybe we can convince them to attend!
FYI, I plan to arrive on Thursday afternoon to get set up!

How about the Roush Merkur drivers, like Scott Pruett or Pete Halsmer (who else did they have) ? That would be nice. Also, I'd like to see Alex, if we can throw a blanket over him and drag him away from that computer screen!

Funny you should mention him, a friend of mine Larry Koch from BMW-HQ who is in charge of their heritage events (Lime Rock) and their classic parts distribution knows him and called him this past Friday.
I was there when he placed the call to Pete, he hadn't talked to him in about 3 years. He asked what he had been doing as of late and this was his response:
He had left the Honda racing program a year ago, he said he didn't like how it was operated.
My friend asked if he would be interested in doing some driving of their vintage race cars at selected events, no. He then told him about our pending 20th anniversary event at Carlisle and asked him if he would be interested in attending as a guest of the MCA. No, without a explaintion as too why?
My friend siad he seemed to be a little discomboobellated :?: in his responses, maybe he has some other issues and is not into racing any longer we surmissed.
My friend Larry menioned he last drove for BMW competitively in 1995 and was unable to win, and didn't get along well with others so they didn't keep after that season.
Oh well, we tried, who else?

We already tried, together with Carlisle Events, to get Pruett - no luck there as he is likely racing in the Trans-Am series again this year. We thought we might have better luck getting Halsmer since he's not racing on a regular basis any longer, but as Phil indicated, he was out to lunch on the idea. Thanks for trying Phil!

Not to worry, we've still got some tricks left up our sleeves...

How about Roland Zuk, father of IMON and the main guy that got Merkurs at Carlsile started...or Russ from Rapido??
Thats who I'd like to see there - but I know it won't happen, so I'd like to see as many people from the forum and the IMON list as possible show up as that seems more realistic. I have absoultely no doubt that this year will be the biggest Carlsile for the Merkur owner EVER!

If someone can get me an address and/or phone for Roland, I'll certainly make the call / write the letter of invitation.

No doubt, I will be inviting Russ to join us once again this year.

Hey, don't forget! Discounted advance registration ends just ONE WEEK from today! Go print out the form (link below) now before you forget!

I would like to see a K2 edition XR.

What about the Blue-green XR with the Eribuni body kit? You know the one that looks like Homer Simpson would drive?

Do we know of any of those K2's that have survived? I think I've only seen a picture of one that was tired and probably crushed by now.

I could do without seeing that Erebuni bumper car. Maybe with some big wheels & tires I'd feel better about it.

I'd like to see 2 dozen entrants in a Wet T-Shirt contest.

[But I'll be smiling with as many as we can get. And, if the gals will only do it if the guys will as well, I'm in.  ]

How about sending an invite to Ken Tidwell of Merkur Garage?

And is Alan Slocum expected or not?

What about finding out which dealer(s) and saleperson(s) sold the most Merkurs and sending them invites (Mike Hughes of NOVAMOG might be able to help on this)?
