Post by turbopower »

Paula and I wanted to say "thanks" for a great time at carlisle,
this was our first and most enjoyable car event I've been too.
Sorry for not posting sooner, I had an extended vacation after
we left carlisle and I wanted to share my pictures with you after
I got home.

Now I need to start working on my car for next years show. :D

here's the link to the chocolate candy bar that chris anglin's wife made
plus pictures from the show and convoy.
enjoy.... john

Connie made the Merkur cookie (based on Eve Ziminski's amazing design from a few years back) and the chocolate bar was made by somebody else. I forget who now. For those curious about the cookie and the candy bar, here are Ryan Mattson and Dimitri Wittal modeling each of them.

Ryan Mattson orally molesting a cookie:

Dimitri Wittal workin' it:

The images are unedited, so they are kinda big (like 750K). Just a warning for you dialup folks.

I also posted a sampling of my Carlisle pics under the same generic file name. I have 2005carlisle001.jpg through 2005carlisle008.jpg online in that directory.

I kept asking him to move the chocolate bar over so I could get a picture of it with the white t-shirt in the background. He was commenting on my requests when I snapped the picture.

It's all good, ain't no thang. There were plenty of cool treats and lots of effort by a lot of people. I'll give Connie your compliments.

It was actually Scott Williams and his wife who set up Willy Wanka's Chocolate Factory in their kitchen for over a week to create those "XR4Ti" chocolate bars. It was a monumental, slow, manual effort - probably well in excess of 100 hours invested!

Don't count on "Scorpio" chocolate bars for the 20th in 2008!!!

Thanks Brad for setting the record straight on the candy bar. While it was a monumental, and time-consuming effort, the actual hours spent melting, molding, chilling, unmolding and wrapping those bars came to 25 hours.
With only 2 molds available, we averaged about 10-12 bars an hour. We used 31 pounds of chocolate to make 273 bars. Judging from the reaction, it was time well spent. However, next year, I'm spending those 25 hours on the car!
