Seems like bidding got to 530,000 pounds, so 596,250 pounds out the door. Must be the taxes, title and auction house fees added. Someone said the seller paid 80,000 for the car so he got a pretty good return on his investment.

Hi all,

All UK purchases have VAT added into them and that would be 10%, I believe.

The RS 500 was the run to homologate the Sierra for racing. The Ford factory was too busy to do a one off run of 500 so they had Aston Martin assemble them, in Tickford IIRC, and were known collectors items from the start. What Car had a write up about them at the time. All the UK car mags loved them.
