That's a spectacular looking LP! Is it possible to ditch the pick guard on those? I think LPs have the most hideous pickguards. Ok, maybe the Tele is worse.
I have a 1960 Gibson Explorer GA18 amp that will be my main amp for awhile. It's currently getting a couple pots replaced, so I'm stuck with a clean sound thru the PC.
I haven't decided which new amp to buy yet. Still shopping. The good ole tubed Gibson is going to sound wonderful.
Perhaps a Marshall, or Kustom will be my next amp. As the Gibby is spendy to keep up with.

The first thing I did after than picture was taken was rid the pickguard. It's a shame to cover up such a nice finish! They are really ugly guards! I also ditched the switch plate. It's much cleaner now.
Man, that is a tough looking Jackson! Enjoy your new 'tar! I hope you play it's brains out!
Watch out for those porn sites Toggle. Sometimes when you take away the "unnecessary accessories" you end up staring at some "unnecessary accessories" that you REALLY don't want to see.
Jon - I noticed that you posted your axe on the harmony central site. Looks just as good there, too!

Oh yeah, I had to give a big thanks to Kurt at Rondo music for the excellent machine he sold me.
Here is a pic minus the pick guard, the switch plate and as of this morning, the chrome covers on the pickups have also been removed. I was going for looks with the pickups (didn't like the chrome), and actually improved the sound of them. It's less muddy and more accurate. I guess I won out on that one!
Now I just have to get good. THAT will take time. hehe.
