Hey there. Glad you come back on site every once in a
while.! Good looking guitars and such. I do not play but,
pretend to sing harmony. People who hear me think I'm
pretty decent (choir helped). I on the other hand I disagree.

My fave. guitar players; Like you Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe
Satriani, Brian Setzer (Stray Cats and his own Big Band Orchestra),
Ry Cooder, BB King, Taj Mahal, and Kenny Wayne Shepard.
Wonderful road music!!

This is off topic but, where is Daskustomwerk located in Yakima?
I'll be in that area 25-26 of Aug. and would like to carve out some
time to say hi.

John B. - this is way off topic but I finally know where I've heard a
good part of your sig. (under your name):). It took me to revisit a
band that I haven't listened to in a while, Midnight Oil!! I had this
big $#!* eating grin from ear to ear after I heard that line in the car
going to Ocean Shores for the weekend.!

Anyway Jon M. if you ave a chance PM me and let me know if
you'll be around that weekend.

Have a great time in Ocean Shores, Kiddo--I have fond memories of that place! Maybe one day, Chris and the kids and I can join you and Steve for a night out there around a fire, listening to great music!

You know, all the good ones always say "I don't think I'm any good." So, I have no way to respond to you. hehe.

Never really got into Vai. But SRV... forget about it. That man was/is amazing. Eddie Van Halen, of course, Eric Clapton, and of course my brother, whom is probably the best I've ever heard.

Sad to say, Daskustomwerk is kinda in limbo. What's the old saying, "Don't start businesses with friends; you lose businesses and lose friends..." I was lucky, kept the friend but lost the business. This is why I'm building guitars at the moment.

Happy to say, however... I do still daily drive the Merk. Love that car.

What are you coming into town for? Headin down to the big Tri?

I should have read this before I clicked 'quote'. Sorry I can't show off some car projects for ya. Guess you'll have to visit John in Seatown. :)

Jon, I'm headed for Moxee. My aunt lives there and I
promised I'd see her this summer. At least you drive your Merkur.
I keep mine really close to my mechanic for now due to an idle
problem that we just can't figure out. I can feel the stumble through
my feet. It's very soft but doesn't just happen on a regular bases.
Then she'll cough and try to die. It doesn't feel like a cycle issue. We're
just not sure what it is. Long idle times seem to produce this more
often then again not.
Ill let you know a bit closer to that weekend what's up.

John B. Any day at the beach is a good day! That is where home is.!
Yes, any one can come visit, but you just need to let us know, so we
can meet you there.

Just got back from the airport where we put our son on the plane back to Seattle-- what a geat time we had with him this weekend!

Anyway, while he was here, he turned us on to this incredible YouTube clip showing Michael Angelo Batio (formerly of the "hair band" Nitro) performing on the double guitar- watch it, and weep:

Thanks for turning me onto MAB - JOHN. I went off on
a tangent from there. It was a 2 1/2 hrs. trip in time.
So my question is this; ( My band time-line is a little off.)
When did the band, The Firm come out? Before, between, or
after Bad Co. and Led Zepplin?

Oh, well after-- Bad Co. was in the Seventies; Zep were still doin' their thing as Zep. Don't forget-- The Firm was Led Zeppelin. I'm thinkin' late Eighties/early Nineties for The Firm.

Thanks, John.
I did not know that the Firm and Zep. were linked.
That trip, sent me back to Silver Platters for some
shopping. That tangent I got into, got me to buy a CD
from a band known as Nickleback. All the Right Reasons.
I heard a couple of tunes and thought it was up my alley.
I'll find out tomorrow how the whole thing sounds when I'm
at the 2nd All Ford car show at the XXX!

Jimmy Paige was in both, but there were no other common members between the two.

Hmm... OK, I Googled it; it was Paige and Paul Rodgers, 1984. I'm thinking of Paige and Plant (or the obverse), who are currently planning to play London with Jason Bonham (John's son). It's been 19 years since they last played together.

Togglehead, in answer to the photography, I pretend to take
photos. I use them for my other hobbie, card making. Some
of those cards (esp. the car ones) have turned out really good.
