It does'nt run the full lenght of the rail just where the rail tapers off towards the rear of the car then it kicks out to the beam mount.
Thanks for posting the pics Wes. That's the spot I always use as a jacking point for the rear. I think I'd be inclined to use something a little wider so I could still readily use it as a jacking point - perhaps some 3" channel or some such.
Great minds think alike... Actually the guy who made doesn't even know what a Merkur is. I left the car with him to fix some rust spots and the hole i cut in the trans tunnel, when I went to get the car I told him i also wanted subframe connectors and those were the results.

YOU folks are the reason MCA volunteers do what we do. We just enjoy bringing a simply amazing bunch of cars together owned/driven by some of the nicest folks ever to exist. I cannot remember everyone I was talking to, but it is always great to Chuck from Nebraska (and Bob and Tom ?), Wilky from Canada, his son and girlfriend (up to 2am drinking and talking on the grass), Colin, Steve K from California, Bob & Jon Fasano, Rob McDonald, Bob Saffian and son, Paul W, Brad, Scott, Norm, Mike Ruth, Chris R and Keith P both from Detroit- oh my- I could keep going!!! What a great weekend!!!!
I have to thank all those folks who helped me judged, you were all great to work with!!!
Now that Carlisle is over, I gotta clean my car all over again for a show in Detroit this coming weekend!! I just detailed wheels (off car), fender liners, fuel tank cover, muffler, and preparing under the hood. This time it gets trailered in an enclosed unit to avoid rain.
