Carlisle Pictures - All Cars on the Showfield

Post by anglin »

All,

I snapped a picture of every car that was in place as I passed by the rows between 11:53 am and 12:08 pm on Saturday. I've posted the pictures to a directory (by filename) for anybody to look at. No thumbnails or anything fancy.

Enjoy!

Uh, I dunno. Cool wheels though. :-)

It was excellent to meet you in person, too!

Brad, I was nearly going to put a Merkur emblem over your sacreligious Pontiac emblem, ala Colin Doyle. I had the right tape (Colin used my tape to do his "mods").

"Making them work", that was a 10-minute job. "Making them fit", well, let's just say I really didn't intend to waste THAT much time on this silly-ass project. The funny thing is how many people want to see me finish it off so it looks better. I was thinking it had served it's purpose and should be thrown in the trash now!

I agree! :P I did it for a laugh, and in that regard I think I was successful. I can't even justify it from a practical standpoint, since the lighting supplied by the Pontiac lights is crap; my Euro quad round headlights is way better. In my "insanity gone wild" moment, I checked into the GM forums and found there are ways to improve the lighting of the mini-quads, but it's not a huge improvement.

Chris:

Thanks for taking the shots of the Merkur showfield. Of all things, I left the hotel Saturday morning w/o my camera and didn't take any shots of my own (what a bone-head!). I copied these over into a directory and these will make great material for my screensaver for the upcoming months.

The only thing worse than having people talk about you, is not having people talk about you.
-Oscar Wilde

If you looked close, you could see the "witness marks" from the original Pontiac emblem, showing that it was actually larger than the one I replaced it with. Ya know, cause I wanted a more understated, elegant appearance.
