I think you missed Richard's point. It was much closer to 3/4-assed.
And I'll have you know that was not chicken wire, but rather the finest drywall corner molding available (in my garage, any way). Furthermore, I purposely left the sunblock off my neck on Friday, just to better match the persona of that mod alone!!!

I love how rumors spread and become so violently distorted. I can just hear it now.... "Do you know that after doing that half-assed mess of a grille he gave himself an award too. How effed up is that!?"
Thanks for clarifying Richard. I thought for sure you guys were going to "award" me with the embroidered "a**hole" hat that I pointed out to someone earlier that day.
hmmmm...
The more I read the posts here and on merkursport, the more I think I don't regret not going this year...
and may think twice before going next year

Oops, fixed my post. Funny how one little word can change so much.
It's my first carlisle, and even though it may have been one of the smallest, it sure gave me the inspiration to work on my cars and enjoyed EVERY LAST MINUTE OF IT.
It's just funny how there's always a "spoiler" around.
I was and still is open arms to any xr owner.
I don't care, if someone criticize my position as an xr owner, i'm not the one hating someone else, and if they ever realize the shame they put themselves in, hopefully they'll change for the good and see that our COMMUNITY is growing NOT for being small minded... but being respectful and care-giving...

next year we are going to do like the bloods & crips.
merkursport will wear red...
and MCA will wear blue.
but we all love eachother.
deep down inside.
even though we like to interrupt eachother's breakfast.

That's like the 400th reference I've seen to Jerry Chandler talking to folks at breakfast, yet no description of what happened. Is anybody going to share the story or do you just figure that an "inside joke" that gets mentioned over and over is a good idea.

Amen brother Reno.
It's often too easy for something to be misinterpreted in any on-line forum like this, and a "virtual fist-fight" breaks out as a result that only serves to do harm and create ill-will. We do this stuff for fun, right? No sense in getting all worked up over nothing.
I can't qoute exactly what he said due to the fact that i was on the other side of the table, but everyone there has my back about this.
Colin was with us and Jerry (if that's who you guys are refering to) comes up to colin while we are eating and speaks to him about "keeping every one together".
Honestly i shouldn't be the one telling the whole story because i was talking to jay and sean, and when they turn to hear what jerry was talking about, i did as well. I got to listen to the end of what seem to be a lecture to colin.
We were all eating breakfast and Jerry walked up and starts talking to me about how I should've come to the MCA dinner or some crap... kinda insinuating that MerkurSport was trying to shut down the MCA or something. Dunno. I just let it go... when I've got a big stack of pancakes and an omelette in front of me, it takes a lot more than Jerry making a guilt trip to make me get uppity.

Jerry means well, but I think he sometimes speaks without thinking through who he's talking to and how his message might be received. I suppose we all do that.
I will say that he took the public-ribbing we gave him about last year's convoy speech very well. If you weren't at the dinner, we had an agenda on each table, and Jerry was allotted precisely 5 minutes. But I don't know when to quit, so I had his speech "sponsored by Reader's Digest".
In all sincerity, his speech this year was eloquent and to the point - I think he was done in 4 minutes.
