Since we've moved away from having a "formal" dinner/reception at the Radisson, dining out in the Camp Hill / West Harrisburg area has taken on greater importance. Some of us have our favorite places, but I'm always willing to find some new ones. I'll start off by posting this link of the "25 Tastiest Places to Eat in Harrisburg"....
http://www.urbanspoon.com/guides/198-th ... sburg-area
Many are probably further into Harrisburg than we'd want to venture, but there's a few listed that are in Camp Hill.
Feel free to add your own specific recommendations (be sure to include link, address, etc). Also, if you'd like to organize a group dinner, feel free to do that too. I'd just suggest limiting it to 8 or so, so that the logistics don't become unmanageable.

My fav (Because it is easy walking distance next to the hotel): Arooga's. Great wings and beer.

Second choice is Dockside willies which is 1.5 miles away and easy to find.

Third choice is forget dinner. Go to Glenn Miller's Beer & Soda warehouse which is exactly a mile away and next to an autozone should you need it and stock up on your favorite brewski, munchies and cigars. Don't miss the walk in cold beer storage area!

Nikoli's Pizza

I really try and make it a point when traveling to avoid all the franchise pizza places and try something unique and local. Nikoli's is just that. We will most likely be getting this both Fri and Sat night delivered to the hotel. Stephanie absolutely loves their pizza (as do I). If I recall correctly, $25 minimum order to get it delivered, so buddy up if interested. I also THINK they have the menu in the yellow pages. If not, try the front desk, and if all else fails, someone will have a laptop and internet. Look for us near the Taxi.

It's been a few years, but I rememebr a nice brew pub in Carlisle itself that was a good place. Not only good beer brewed right there, but decent food, too. Had some nice stonework on the vintage building. Maybe somebody lucky enough to live nearby and go to Carlisle often will remember it.

But that was only a good option when we were staying at the Hotel Carlisle, which was just a couple miles from downtown Carlisle.
Appalachian Brewing Co. has a brewpub right in Camp Hill as well as one just across the river in Harrisburg. I've been to both - prefer the Harrisburg location - but the one in Camp Hill is a bit closer to the hotel.

Yeah, that was it! So, after a long and wonderful day of Carlisling, go to the pub, grab some food, then head back to the hotel for a refresh before the evening's activities...DPDISXR4Ti wrote:http://www.marketcrosspub.com/John Brennan wrote:It's been a few years, but I rememebr a nice brew pub in Carlisle itself that was a good place.

My choices would be Appalachian Brewing Company or Dockside Willies.

I would HIGHLY recommend Appalachian Brewing Company. It's only a 5 minute drive from the Radisson, and the food and beer is fantastic! I've gone there on the Friday night of Carlisle weekend the past two years and I'm looking forward to going again this year. Might you be interested in going Scott and Brad? I'm going to start a thread to gauge interest.
