A respectable if not record turnout. Some new faces, always a good sign. Lotsa interest in the Marque by non-owners checking out the specimens on display. Interestingly, MCA numbers would easily have been higher had some members come with a Merkur (from memory I count at least 5-6-7 or maybe more...), come to the showfield and not just the hotel parking lot on Saturday night (2-3 maybe), come as planned (Grayson, who changed plans to attend an AutoX in DC I was told), were able to come from down south (SteedaFocusGrrrl and hubby; XR4Man; Richard Thompson), and surely some others.
Another factor not acknowledged is the effect of several remaining examples of XRs and Scorpios being owned by single individuals. While it's possible that that saved some from the JY it's also more probable that potential MCA members and Carlisle attendees are limited by some of those cars being off the market/unavailable for purchase by new interested advocates. Full disclosure: I plead guilty as charged with a Scorpio and two XRs.
YMMV
