I registered the Merkur this year so I will be there at least Friday and likely Saturday as well. I put this car together from parts left by the late owner so I am always looking for something. Two things I am hoping someone can help me out with are a mount for a shock tower brace, mine only has one mount on it. The other item is a larger pipe turbo to the throttle body. My current pipe is smaller than the outlet and inlet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Carlisle Part Request
I'm using a pipe similar to this right now that came off a Volvo of some sort. I may have another one - need to search. Worse case, take a look at Carlisle at the one I'm using.saleen322 wrote:The other item is a larger pipe turbo to the throttle body. My current pipe is smaller than the outlet and inlet.

I have a stock pipe and turbo compressor housing if your interested in going that route. It may be an appropriate time to add an intercooler though, that would give you a little performance boost and get rid of that pipe.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I may walk back changing it but I would like to have a 2.5" pipe on hand just in case. Likewise with the shock tower brace. I may never install it but having only one mount does me no good in any case.
What you are saying about the intercooler is also logical. If I thought it would help the bottom end, I would definitely do it. Right now I am under powered/over geared down low and the car is no fun in traffic lights. However get it out and above 3000 rpm, it really gives the turbo rush. I live WAY out in the sticks so it is fun to drive here. My guess is the cam is really too big for the street but for a play car, no problem. I actually drive the thing pretty easy as I have to remind myself how old it is and some of those little "clunks" may turn into a boom if pushed too hard. Fun little car that is sort of rare and cheap to have around that I intend to keep for a while.
