"If the Lowe's project is not approved, the junkyard will remain indefinitely," Boswell said.

Stopped by GI's the other day. Lots of open space - not too many cars - but they did build a new fence that routes everyone through the office as the "security check-point". Hard to understand why they'd make that investment if they were planning to close soon.
Found this on the net, so it sure sounds like the re-zoning to allow a Lowe's is still on the table...
Gi auto and Lowes have started the Zoneing board of adjustment process to go forward with the Lowes on this site.

Yep, they just force you to go through the office to get out there. I guess you should have something in mind to tell them what you're looking for if they ask, but it was busy the one time I went and I was able to just walk through.Rooster wrote:can you still walk around inside the yard?
I did a search the other day and there wasn't any new news about Lowe's coming to town, so must be our campaign to "Save the Junkyard" worked!

I can't disagree Mike. I did consider applying for the Event Planner job at Carlisle Events a couple years ago. That would have only been a 80% pay cut, but it was the notion of moving to central PA that I couldn't get my arms around. I mean, if the gig at Carlisle didn't work out, what would I do? I'm not much of a corn farmer, ya know.Mike McCreight wrote:It's all about QUALITY of life, Brad.
Sorta almost back on topic, I will grab one of those Volvo sandwich plates if I comes across one with easy access. Otherwise, I'd need to charge you about $300! Hey, gotta make a living at my new test career choice!

It's getting ugly now. Note the letter to the citizens of Montvale from the junkyard owner - he's practically using extortion tactics at that point!
