Yeah I know, the article said the reserve was something above 25k, and it didnt sell.
I am wondering about the door mod itself.
I'd settle for upward swinging doors, like a DeLorean or Lambo though

You know the XR is already 400+ lbs lighter than cars of comparable size!!

I would say all that CO2 crap and valvling, arms and spools of pull-strand etc etc.. at least 150lbs

From a practial standpoint, the trunk space it eats up would be more of a concern than the weight. It is a Lincoln, after all.

I can't imagine that thing got any serious consideration as something that could be put into commerical production. They probably just had some exces R&D money to spend that year.
