Wild, Do you intend on rolling it once to test the integrity of the welds? I wouldn't; but I don't know what is crazier building a merkup or testing the roll cage out. Looks fun! Great Job

Cool! :)

Is the General Lee getting a lift kit in the next stall, or what? :?

No, just a whole new suspension. Too many "General Lee Jumps" in it's past!

Oh, and before anyone asks, yes, the area forward of the shock tower is getting boxed in. Just need to get the floor pieces welded in to the floor and square tubes that extend the frame-rails forward. The rear-end of this thing should be pretty damn solid when we're done here. :headbang

Nice job Brad. Looks like you picked a good guy to build the roll cage.

Yep, it's nice to work with someone who knows what they're doing, yet isn't too full of himself not to listen to my ideas. The shock towers are a good example of that - used my basic idea, but doubled-up with an overlapping seam for strength - something I wouldn't have thought of at all.

Look what came home today.... :D

Here's some shots of the completed shock towers. What you don't really see here is that the 1/4" plates in the floor are
welded to the square tubes which extend the factory frame rails forward to the area underneath the rear window panel.

Removable shoulder bar...

Same shot with the seat folded forward...
Image

Similar area, just a close-up of the area behind the driver's seat...
Image

Same area, but taken from the passenger door...
Image

Passenger side floor, pic taken through roof...
Image

Similar shot, just taken through rear window...
Image

Same area, taken through open passenger door...

Here's the square tube I referred to above - this shot is sorta underneath the forward part of the bed, aka, the smuggler's compartment.
