Some Signature and Profile Guidelines - Please Read

Post by DPDISXR4Ti »

I don't want to come down as "Mr. No-Fun", but it's been suggested by several folks over the past weeks/months/years that we should have some rules in place on Signatures and Profile. I'll take a stab at a few - feel free to voice your feedback and suggest additions/deletions, but keep in mind, not everything is decided by popular vote.

1) Signatures should be limited to 6 lines and no large images or commercial advertising (unless you're a paid-up sponsor)
2) Please update your profile with at least basic location information
3) A real name is highly recommended in your signature. It's really difficult to have a meaningful conversation with someone known only as "Loverboy", "YoMamma", "Big10inch", etc.

Well, the popular preference is none, and I agree with it. I just didn't want to be overly draconian coming out of the blocks, telling anyone who had an image to ditch it "or else".

I just haven't gotten around to it, it's almost like work.

Hell, it took me 2 yrs after I moved out of the "Peoples Republic of Boulder", before I updated my profile...

It all sounds pretty good. I like the name and location piece. This boards actually pretty good with avatars, sigs and what not.

The local import board I assist with moderation with gets REALLY out of control sometimes.

No complaints here on how the forum looks. I think we all do a grand job and show alot of respect towards our passion.

None the less I removed and simplified my sig. I do apologize if my banner ruined anyone's morning coffee scroll.

Nah, that's fine Ray. It's really just the larger images that can annoying to page through. I think we can live wthout having some iron-clad rule on this - it really hasn't been a big issue here like I've seen on some other boards.

I can't believe someone is crying over some extra content on the forum... pbbt!!! The place looks drab to me. (mtn) where did you get that cool banner deal? (ian) where do you get the cool little cars?
