Possible front bumper replacement

Post by labmonkey »

Does anyone know if there is a bumper from a different car that will fit the Scorpio? I saw that the jetta bumper will fit the XR so figured might be something like this for me. There is nothing wrong with my bumper, just dont like driving with large holes where fog lights should be.

I've never seen/heard of anyone swapping out the Scorpio bumper for something else. Generally speaking, Scorpio owners tend to keep their cars closer to stock, but don't let that stop you from being a trailblazer.

this is only an assumption on my part, but i think the distance from the front of the scorpio bumper to the wheel openings is shorter than that of the xr.

i do know that the distance from the front of a sapphire bumper to the wheel openings is shorter than an xr.

so there may be a chance that a sapphire front bumper would be a nice fit for the scorpio.

also sapphire cossie front bumpers are plentiful. but shipping would be a bitch.

Even as I will be changing the bumper, I will still keep the stock bumper. Now I am curious as to this sapphire car. What year models would I be looking for to check the bumper?

. . . and not imported to the US. You'd have to import one to see if it fits.

ouch! I can feel the strain on my wallet just reading that. Any idea of a U.S. based car that I bumper can come from, possibly like a Volvo or Topaz?

The pontiac front on a Scorp seems better then this thing currently being sold here in Sweden:

3000SEK (Roughly 500USD).

Oh, they offer a matching rear bumper & side skirts too.

If you must have it...Here is the link to the site. I am not sure that they will ship across the ocean though. http://www.scstyling.com/default.aspx

In the Winter months, yes. In the Summer, it's used at the driving range for scooping up golf balls.
