That was kinda my point. It all depends on the purpose of the vehicle. If it's a toy car, throw some short gears in and rip it up. Just because the car will have a motor with good low-rpm torque doesn't mean it needs tall gears.DPDISXR4Ti wrote:Sure it does, as does vehicle weight. Generally, the STA is the problem with rear tire width when it comes to moving the tires more inboard. In other words, the STA is what you'll hit before you run into anything else. Once you run out of inboard room, you can only move outboard. Rob's pics are a good point of reference. The GTO t56 transmission bell housing is apparently different then any other GM bellhousing and requires a GTO specific starter. Found 2 refurbished ones that say they are for GTO, but they don't fit. Bought a real Nice MSD starter it fits but now it hits my catalytic. so I am forced to buy a OEM one from the dealer .
The electronic odometer does hook up to the factory GM speed sensor. I love technology. No more speedo cables
