My 87 xr4ti 302 swap log--It runs!!!!!
So I finally found my 5.0 and here's what I've done so far.
Here's what it looked like before I started
Here's the motor out of the car
Here's my 94 5.0 with 60k
I'm takeing the upper and lower manifold off for my GT40 manifold
Here I've almost got the heads off, getting ready to freshin up the heads with some new crane valve springs,
I'll have more pics as I get stuff in, as far as the rest of the stuff I'm still waiting form my cam,GT40 intake and my valve train. For future mods I'll either go with the Paxton blower or do a single switzer turbo setup.

I'm curious, since you have them both out, what is the weight of the 2.3 with turbo and manifolds vs the cast iron head 302 in weight?....
*Bilsteins, MC2 250# coil overs front, 600# rear, BAT sway bars, full 3" exh, Gillis valve, K&N, MC2 Diff mount and bushings, 17x7 Team Dynamics Monza's, 225/45-17's, Eaton Posi, RS500 (clone) intercooler/radiator, Forge BOV and LA computer and big VAM...

I got more parts in,
My new comp cam custom grind
The old cam out and the heads off
New cam goin in
I decided to paint the intkae manifolds, the upper satin black, and lower grey
A lttle off topic but I'm doing a M50 motor swap to this E36 while I'm building the 302.
I'm still waiting on my GT40 heads and 1.6 roller rockers and my valve springs, since this cam likes power adders I see a paxton in my future.

Finally got my T5 from the shop after going through it and rebuilding it.
I bought some beehive springs to take my .566 lift cam, and a new clutch fork and throw out bearing.
I also got some solid motor and tranny mounts for the car.
There's more comming next week, I get my stg. 3 clutch and 13lb. flywheel along with my GT40p heads. So as soon as I get my motor and tranny mounts from Jim I'll have the motor and tranny in.

Well I got my GT40p heads and some other stuff in.
My david godfrey clutch quadrant kit.
So the next parts I get are my MSD dist. with 8mm wires, e-clutchmaster stg. 3 clutch with light flywheel, hopefully I will have my mounts from Jim soon. I'll be ready to put the motor in next week.

well I wanted to get my heads on the block today but, when I orderd the cam and springs comp failed to tell me I needed new retainers and locks. So I should have the heads and intake on thur. or fri.. I don't want to rush this project but I have too much on my plate right now. The BMW M50 swap is almost done then it's off to our F350 V10 to 7.3 powerstroke swap with stg. 3 turbo and some banks goodies.

Well I'm getting closer to finally putting the motor in the car once I get my mounts in the mail.
I got one head complete with bee hive springs and new locks and retainers.
e-clutchamaster stg. 2 clutch with a 11.5 lb. flywheel.
My timing gear setup that took me about 2 hours to put it on, this is the quiet drive.
The crane 1.6 roller rockers just waiting on the studs and I can put those in.

Well this 94 had only 60k and 92's have higher millage. 2nd reason is 94-95 have the slim acc. more room in the bay. And the only 2.3 stuff I have left is the light weight starter make ya a good deal if you want it. All the 302's are a good choice but I beleive that the 89-93 got forged internals, I've heard a rumor that 94's did as well depending on where it was put together.
