i agree too...DPDISXR4Ti wrote:Actually Ian, I think your car would look better dirty - in "as used" condition.xrian wrote:Damn!!! Now I have to wash the stupid thing
maybe just clean the whole car, except the dirt that splashes up on the doors, and rear bumper from tire splatter.
i think those dirt marks always look cool, and they give the car the illusion of moving... kinda like speedlines on a drawing.

Re: Bldg G cars
I don't think I knew about this Jeff. Is this the one Mike brought over?EodGuy99 wrote:...and if It's ready(working on it) my 89 Sapphire.
Regardless, get crackin! It would be nice to have an example of what would have been the 3rd car in the Merkur line-up.

Sapphire
Yes it's the one Mike had, I am collecting up the rest of the parts now to complete the car, interior bits and such.
I already had a lot of the stuff it needed, that was a plus.
It will not have a Cossie engine by June though.
Most likely a Volvo head 2.3 or perhaps a 4.6 modular engine.
It's a clean slate right now, so I can go in different directions pretty easily.
I own the 2.3 and the 4.6, so those are least expensive options right now.
I should have it rolling with fresh paint and interion april, then have the engine and drivetrain done JUST in time, I hope.

Re: Sapphire
Just for fun, you should put Merkur badges on it in place of Ford badges just for Carlisle! I'm sure they would have kept the name Sapphire. As Brad said, you could really give everyone a peek not only at a great car most Americans have never seen in person, but what probably would have become the third Merkur model!EodGuy99 wrote:Yes it's the one Mike had, I am collecting up the rest of the parts now to complete the car, interior bits and such.

Either way, I can't wait to see it! Good luck!
