New Guy from Argentina

Post by XR4FordEver »

Hi people
I´ve been reading the forum for long time ago and finally take a courage to introduce myself.

My name is Alejandro and I´m a happy owner of a Sierra XR4 model 1987 from 2007. I bought it from a car reseller, first owner, good shape, only has a minor details in the hood (paint)

It´s raining now at this moment so I promise pictures when she is clean and shiny.
:lol:

Regards

Bienvenidos from all of us-- very nice to meet you, thanks for introducing yourself. 8) I have a cousin who lives part of the year in Santiago, travels all over South America, and says his favorite place is Argentina.

What engine and driveline are in your car?
This is my car, and these are my people!

Nice. Just before christmas I spent 2 weeks in Buenos Aires for a work trip. Gorgeous city! I was in Sao Paulo, Brasil before and I hated it.

Was just there in November.
You'll soon see my car there... it's going to be sent soon.

Bienvenidos!

Your XR4 seems to be very much the same as ours. Are you aware of differences in specifications? Your cars seem to have more fender clearance than ours do here, but the same bumpers, the same rear side window setup, etc.

Since Alejandro is on vacation, I'll answer for him.

There are many differences between our cars and yours:

* Carb'ed, N/A engine
* No fog lamps
* No power mirrors
* No heated seats
* Some absent trim parts
* Always 14'' wheels
* No 909 reinforcements
* No bumper shocks
* There was only one special version that came with leather seats
* No cat converter (was not required at the time)
* No side marker lights
* No 3rd brake light on the bi-wing

We did get:
* The open, somewhat Cosworthy grill
* Euro headlamps
* Our hatch didn't change when they changed the bi-wing for the mono-wing
* I think we always got the same transmission tunnel
* 5dr sedans

As for fender clearance, I think stock, we did get more, but I'm not sure.

I'll add more if I remember something else :)

Wow! How many responses...

I know Beto in person. I He´s a very humble guy who doesn´t care to share his knoledgments and efforts. He has developed his own turbo- injection project, cam shafts profiles and other upgrades including a Limited Slip Differential (LSD) just like the Merkur XR4Ti has.

Kind Regards
Alejandro

Hi
differences ?
uff !
The big one is the engine. Neither Injection nor Turbo. Very boring !
Other little difference related with the bumpers is that ours cars doesn´t have the internal shock absorver for crashes below 5 km/h.
There are also a minor changes in interiors (colors, door plastics, upholsters, headliner, carpets, etc)
Just the Anniversary Edition brought leather seats, bumpers painted in body color like the Sedan and optionally rear disc brakes.

My friend "Esteban" (Gogeta) who is The Specialist in comparisons could tell you more, he he he.
